International Cooperation for Development

Estonian National Commission for UNESCO collaborates with UNESCO networks and Estonian partners to contribute to the international cooperation for development and achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on Africa and Ukraine. Our work is guided by UNESCO’s mandate, SDGs, the strategic goals and needs of Estonia and partner countries.

Our first collaboration partner in Africa was eSwatini National Commission for UNESCO, with whom the cooperation started in 2019. In 2023, we started to work together with Namibia National Commission for UNESCO, while engaging UNESCO Windhoek Office and UNESCO ROSA. After the start of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, we also focus on supporting Ukraine and creating cooperation possibilities at UNESCO.
